Concession StandParents,
The hockey season is under way and it's time to open the concession stand. Below is a brief overview to aid you through the process.
Two-week slot Assignments: The two week slot assignments are available on our web site www.dcyh.org. Each team is required to work 2-two week time slots as wellas the two-week period over Christmas in the concession stand.
Concession Stand contact person: Each team will assign a concession stand contact. That person is responsible for getting the sign up form from the concession stand coordinator, getting their team to sign up, combining the sign up form with the other team, and posting the final signup form on the back of the concession stand door at least 4 days prior to the two week slot start.
Signup: Your team concession contact will be given a sheet for signing up at least one week prior to your two week time slot. The sheet can be passed around at practices and games until filled. Please add your name and phone number under your team's column. The schedule is viewable on the web but you must sign up on the paper form. If you need extra hours - feel free to sign up for unfilled slots for any schedule on the back of the concession stand door.
Required Hours: Everyone signed a form at registration stating their required hours for the stand. The hours required and buyout option is stated on that form. The hours you are required to work is displayed on hour time tracking card. Any un-worked hours from last year have been added to this year's hours. You may take a buy out for those hours.
Time Tracking: In the stand will be an index cardholder to track hours. Inside will be a card with your family's name on it. Please mark your hours worked here. Please include who worked and date/time worked. Also keep sign up sheet on the door accurate. We will be auditing the form against the cards periodically. Only put down your concession stand hours. There is another form on the web to track your other hours if needed.
Training:
The concession stand managers are available to train you if needed. Hopefully
working with an older team parent will aid in this process. Please let one of
us know if you want training. There is also a concession stand manual located
in the stand and available on the www.dcyh.org web site.

Money handling: When opening, get the starting cash bag from the rink employee (starting cash is kept in the rink office safe). Place the starting cash in the register. At close you must count out the starting cash and place in the starting cash bag. There is a note in the bag stating what amount. The rest of the money should be placed in the moneybag labeled for that day. Also run a Z register report (instructions by the register) and put in the daily bag. Give both bags to the rink employee to put in the safe. All money needs to be kept in the safe whenever the stand is not open. Please do not leave cash in the register.
Opening the Stand: Time is allotted in the schedule for opening and closing of the stand. When opening, extra time is required to get the food warmed and ready. There is a list in the stand of what needs to be done to open. When closing, please remember this does require some cleaning. We do not have a cleaning person so we rely on all of us to keep the stand clean. There is a sign on the door as to what needs to be done to close.
